Del Maguey San Luis Del Rio is a mezcal that showcases the incredible terroir of the San Luis del Río region in Oaxaca, known for its spicy, fruity, and smoky nose, with a high citrus note that makes it truly distinctive. This mezcal comes from a town nestled at an elevation of about 8,000 feet in a narrow valley. The steep slopes of the valley are filled with agave Espadín, and the Rio Hormiga Colorada provides fresh, pure water, further enriching the agave’s flavor. As part of the Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal collection, it reflects the deep-rooted traditions and artistry that the brand has built its reputation on since its founding in 1995 by the visionary artist Ron Cooper.
Del Maguey is renowned for introducing the world to 100% certified organic, artisanal mezcal, produced using traditional methods that are both rare and authentic. By collaborating with the Zapotec Mexican Indian producers from remote villages in Oaxaca, Del Maguey preserves ancient techniques while showcasing the distinct flavors that arise from varying micro-climates and terroirs.
