This wine, with its roots also in neighboring Deux-Sèvres and Vendée, serves as an exquisite foundation for this Scotch.
The inception of this blend traces back to The Balvenie's USA brand ambassador, Lorne Cousin. Inspired by a memorable sojourn to the French Charentes region with his family, where he relished the Pineau as an aperitif, he proposed the idea to Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE. Thus began The Balvenie's journey into uncharted territories, marking their inaugural exploration with French Oak. As Pineau resonates with the essence and sophistication of cognac in production and palate, this innovative finish by The Balvenie taps into the escalating appreciation for such profiles, underscoring its premium stature.
