Ardbeg BizarreBQ is an exceptional single malt Scotch whisky from the famous Ardbeg distillery, which is known for its uniquely peaty, smoky spirits. This release, created by renowned Master Distiller, Dr. Bill Lumsden, and grill master Christian Stevenson (AKA DJ BBQ), is the distillery's first-ever barbecue-inspired whisky, showcasing a compelling blend of smoky, meaty, and peaty flavors.
Distillery: Ardbeg, a part of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group.
Region: Islay, Scotland, a region celebrated for its peaty and smoky whiskies.
Type: Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Cask Type: A unique blend of double charred oak casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and specially treated BBQ casks.
ABV (Alcohol By Volume): Typically ranges between 46% and 52%.
Bottle Engraving: Front, above the label.
Color: Resembling glowing charcoal embers.
Nose: Charcoal, soot, smoky wood, aromatic herbs and spices come to the forefront. Notes of treacle toffee, hickory smoked ham, and cinnamon-dusted espresso arise. Water releases sharp citrus aromas, along with herbal notes like fennel and aniseed. Grilled artichokes, seared meat, and the unmistakable scent of bonfire and BBQ embers linger in the background.
Palate: The taste mirrors a BBQ experience, with the heat of chilli-smothered ribs followed by deep, warming smoke, flame-grilled steak, chilli oil, cured leather, and clove. Ginger, aniseed, and tar offer a crackling spice contrast, accompanied by an aromatic woodsmoke edge.
