Tears of Llorona is an ultra-premium, handcrafted extra añejo tequila from master tequilero German Gonzalez, celebrated for his meticulous approach to tequila-making. This exceptional spirit originates from 100% blue Weber agave grown on the high volcanic slopes of Jalisco, where the agaves mature slowly, allowing them to develop high levels of starch and sugars. These qualities enhance the complexity of the tequila, as each agave is carefully selected and harvested later than usual.

The production process of Tears of Llorona is steeped in tradition and precision. The agave piñas are roasted slowly to extract their fullest flavors. The fermentation process is gradual and carried out using a proprietary yeast strain that lends a unique character to the spirit. Distilled in traditional pot stills, the tequila is then aged in two different barrels in sequence, creating a distinctive profile. This dual-barreling process results in a significant osmotic loss, also known as the “angel’s share” or “tears,” a poetic reference that contributes to the name Tears of Llorona.
